AAGPBL Player/Grad from Kent State Brings Conflict
President Lois Youngen was faced with mixed loyalties when her Alma Mater, Kent State played the University of Oregon recently.
Lois, was born in Ohio and had mixed loyalties, having taught at the University of Oregon for 36 years and now residing in Eugene. Her family history of baseball revolved around the "Kent Golden Flashes, starting with her father who played on the team in the 1920's, and now, with the college World Series hanging in the balance, Lois had to choose between rooting for the Golden Flashes or her beloved Oregon Ducks!
