Barbara Jean "Barb" Sowers
May 4, 1932 - October 19, 2012, Punta Gorda, Florida
 

Barbara was in the League in 1953 and 1954 and just hitting her prime when the League folded. She played for the Grand Rapids Chicks and the South Bend Blue Sox. In Grand Rapids, she hit the longest hit ever recorded at South Field. In later years she earned her Maters Degree and worked as a High School counselor until her retirement.

Barbara will be missed by those who knew her in the league. Our condolences go out to her family and friends.
