When Allocation Day arrived in Cuba, during spring trainning program, one of the best acquisitions made by Ft. Wayne was this smooth-working, former GR Chick first baseman. Betty was especially impressive on the southern tour, handling chances on the intial sack with the ease and getting timely hits. She was also equally at home in the outfield.
