Evelyn R. Dorward, 77, of Allentown, died Sunday, November 19, 2006 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the wife of the late Carl W. Pete Dorward Sr., who died July 6, 2004. Born in Fullerton, she was the daughter of the late Louis Sr. and Evelyn (Beck) Keppel. Evelyn was a homemaker and a loving mother and nana. She was a professional softball player, a catcher for the Kenosha Wisconsin Comets and the South Bend, Indiana Blue Sox of the All American Girls Professional Softball League. She was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Allentown. The family would like to express a special thank you to Lincare for their support and caring throughout the years.

Survivors include a son, five daughters, her brother, 14 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. 

Services: Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. Friday, November 24, 2006 in Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 336 N. Fourth St., Allentow.
