Idona came to South Bend in a trade with the Bluebirds of the Chicago League in 1947. She played in 20 games per the South Bend Tribune, the August 10, 1947 issue.
Mrs. Idona Janet "Dodie" (Crigler) Harris was born June 7, 1922 in Long Beach, California. She passed away July 19, 1994 in Los Angeles County, California at age 72. She was cremated, and her daughter noted: "I take a little bit of my mom with me everywhere I have gone."
