BEVERLY ANN (Steuert) ARMSTRONG
Beverly Ann (Steuert) Armstrong was born on September 27, 1934 in Maywood, New Jersey. She passed away on July 15, 2025, as the last surviving sibling of her two sisters Bettyjean McVey (Steuert) and JoAnne Petrilla (Steuert) and her brother John A. Steuert, Jr.
She is survived by her children and their spouses Michael (Alexandra) Armstrong, Jeffrey (See) Armstrong, and devoted son-in-law Robby Dickson; and by her granddaughter Teresa Dickson and her fiancé Adam Smith.
Beverly’s husband Jack Armstrong passed away on April 7, 2015 after a long and fruitful life and having served in the U.S. Navy. Her precious and caring daughter Kellie Dickson (Armstrong), forever faithful wife of Robby and mother of Teresa, passed away when God called her to rest on March 7, 2023.
Beverly had many accomplishments in life, including an interest and talent for baseball that her father, John Steuert, taught her as a child growing up in Maywood, New Jersey. As an adult, Beverly played professional women’s baseball (pitcher) for the Rockford Peaches made famous by the 1992 Hollywood movie A League of their Own. Later in life she coached the men’s softball team of Holy Cross church in Kernersville, and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown New York in 1988.
She served as the Vice President’s secretary for the commercial building company Varco-Pruden, helping Kernersville to prosper and grow for many years. She traveled to Thailand to visit the home village of her daughter-in-law See and funded the building of a school cafeteria in her name for the elementary school children.
She attended Holy Cross Catholic church for over 50 years with her family, lifelong friends and loving church community, until she moved to Florida for sunny weather and to enjoy the remaining years of her happy life, lovingly cared-for in the home of her eldest son Michael and his wife Alexandra.
Dearest and loving mom and grammy, we are forever yours, faithfully.
The funeral, columbarium service and reception was held at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kernersville, NC on Saturday August 16, 2025 at 11 am.
