Clara R. "Gabby" Chiano, 79, of East Graves Avenue, [Orange City] died November  27, 2000, at Florida Hospital-Fish Memorial.

Ms. Chiano retired as an associate for the electronics industry. Born in Arnold, Pa., she moved to Orange City in 1983 from Boston.

She attended Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Community in Deltona. A sports fan, she played semiprofessional softball in Racine, Wis., and Boston in the 1940s.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Briarwood Trail, Port Orange FL 32119. Baldauff was in charge.
