Joan Lequia began playing fast-pitch softball when she was 14.  Unfortunately, she had to return home to help with financial problems in the middle of her only season in the All-American League. She did continue to play fast-pitch softball in Marquette, Michigan for many years and led her team to two State Championships.  Her lifetime averagei was an outstanding .390.  She married in 1975 and spent 36 years working for AT&T before retiring in 1989.

Joan (Lequia) Barker - March 13, 1935 ~ April 5, 2022

Joan Marie (Lequia) Barker, age 87, of Grandville, MI went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, and now joins her family.  She will be lovingly remembered by her brothers, Rick and Sonja, Gerald and Joyce; many nieces and nephews.  There will be no services at this time.  She will be buried at Resurrection Cemetery in the spring.
