Nancy was drafted in 1948 by South Bend to be groomed as a pitcher and played in one game.  She opted to wait until graduating from high school before pursuing baseball.  Instead, she married and never made it back to playing baseball professionally.  She did, however, go on to coach softball, tee-ball, and little league.

 

Elkhart IN. Nancy G. (DeShone) Rockwell Dinehart, 75, died at 9:25 a.m. October  6 2007 in Hospice House, South Bend.

Nancy played for the South Bend Blue Sox in 1948.

Nancy was an active member of the AAGPBL Players Association and will be deeply missed by all her family, friends, and former teammates.
